Japanese Joinery Screen

This project is the second part the redefinition of Craftsmanship project.

 

This iteration is a bigger and more complex assembly of the four joints from iteration one that looks at the creation of an architectural scale element; in this case a partition screen that can hold material exploration inserts. 

 

Just like with iteration 1, the joinery screen relies upon interlocking joinery to give structural integrity with the machine screws as secondary elements to keep the joint tight.  There is no glue holding the joints together.
